Not all N95 masks are equal. This N95 respirator is FDA cleared as "Surgical" because it passed stringent fluid resistance testing. This is also called a "medical respirator". Unlike typical Industrial N95 respirators, Surgical N95 Respirators are designed to both prevent the spread of germs and protect the wearer's respiratory system.
This respirator has been evaluated and approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) and is cleared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). OSHA regulation 1910.134 requires fit testing of all respirators prior to use in order to determine if proper fit is attainable. Individual facial features, including facial hair, may prevent proper fit.
